What Does Botox Do?
Botox, which is used for a wide variety of purposes, is generally preferred to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It is also preferred in medical treatments such as excessive sweating in the armpits and hands, teeth clenching and migraine. When injected into the skin, it prevents the muscle movement in the relevant area and provides a temporary elimination of wrinkles and lines on the skin.

How Is Botox Made?
The substance used to be injected into the patient in Botox treatment blocks the signal going from the nerve to the muscles. Thus, wrinkles due to muscle movement do not occur and the areas with wrinkles are loosened and softened. It is important to note that botox, which is ideal for forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, lines on the nose, and upper lip lines, is not a face filling. Botox does not fill existing wrinkles. It just relaxes the muscles that create these wrinkles and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. However, serious improvements are observed depending on the structure of the skin before and after botox.
Botox toxin is injected into specific muscles with a very fine needle. Skin sensitivity is reduced before application with a local anesthetic cream. Only a little discomfort is felt during this process. Pain or soreness is minimal. The injection process takes only a few minutes. Swelling at the injection site after the procedure disappears in 10-15 minutes. The effect of Botox starts within 3 days on average and its full effect is established after 14 days. The duration of the effect is around 4-5 months on average.
What Should Be Considered After Botox Application?
- After the procedure, you should stand in an upright position for 2 hours.
- No pressure or massage should be applied to the injection points.
-Do not take a shower with hot water.
- Do not do sports or physical activity
- It should be avoided to lie on the injection points during sleep at night on the day of the procedure.
